The visual artist Houda Bakkali will exhibit her new series “Deadly Sins” at the College of Physicians of Malaga from April 22 to May 17.
“It is a great honor to present my new work at the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Malaga, I am very grateful for this opportunity. Malaga is a symbol of light, inspiration and good friends. Exhibiting my work in such an emblematic city and in such an emblematic space is more than a present”, says the artist.
Bakkali’s style is unmistakable and derives from sophisticated and often ironic mimesis of the popular contents. Her artwork is based on a lively chromatic pop range and an elegant and fresh illustration in combination with augmented reality and motion graphics. Bakkali offers an immersive and fun experience and her scenes are a festive visual spectacle in which the images imply a multiplicity of messages.
Houda explains that her new series “Deadly sins” “is a very personal work, which arose spontaneously and viscerally, like the deadly sins themselves.“Deadly sins” is a metaphor of frivolity, of the vanity of life and of art in an ironic key, because reality is really more bearable and appetizing if we see it and live it with humour. For that, art is the best tool. It is a simple work with a simple message. Like life itself”, says Bakkali.
