The international visual artist Houda Bakkali will be at the 26th edition of Art Shopping, one of the most prestigious trade shows for contemporary art, directed by Myriam Annonay Castanet. Each year, this event welcomes more than 10000 visitors and becomes the perfect space for galleries, artist and urban creative styles. Art Shopping will take place at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris from April 3 to 5, 2020.
For this event, Bakkali will exhibit the awarded artwork “Too many fishes, too few loaves”. This digital illustration tells the violent competitiveness of a world that is increasingly impoverished of its resources and inequality. The image represents a victory of colour and energy of hope. This a colourful and pop representation of the world in which we live, a world with too many fishes and too few loaves. The colour, optimism, rhythm and freshness must exist to enrich a dark world in which every day there is more competition and fewer opportunities. Through the image, the pop man observes his prey between ideas, moments and circumstances that appear in a thousand different colours. The pop man waits and observes serenely, capable of fighting and making his ideas come true, capable of achieving his dreams in an unpredictable world.
“Too many fishes, too few loaves” has been awarded the Graphis Silver Award Poster Annual 2020 in New York.
