Collagistas Festival brings together collage artists from all over the world to show their work and share ideas and thoughts about their practice.
It will feature an exhibition, workshops, discussions and presentations by 53 collage artists from 20 different countries including Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain, U.K and U.S.A. Participating artists will travel to Dublin for the festival.
Collagistas Festival provides a platform to explore and discuss how collage is made and its role in contemporary visual culture. It also aims to engage the general public and the wider art community in these discussions.
Collagistas principle objectives are to maintain an international network of collage artists and to bring collage to a wider audience.
The inaugural Collagistas Festival took place in 2014 in Berlin. In 2015 it was held in Thessaloniki, in 2016, Eindhoven. In 2017 Collagistas Festival ≠4 was in Milan.
The theme of this year’s Collagistas Festival #5 is Big Village Small World. It will feature unique artworks created specifically for the exhibition, by some of the world’s leading collage practitioners.
