Christian Dugardeyn – vernissage in a Rollebeek Gallery
Christian Dugardeyn is a tormented soul, a tortured person who splashes his viscerality on his paintings and sculptures with a sense of anatomy, an obsession for detail. He gives with unfailing honesty and sincere naivety its own perception of the world , its violence , its beauty sometimes.
The hardness of the personages is in contradiction with the colors used, carriers of vitality and hope at times. He enhances his own outlook on life without compromise.
His personages are literally tortured and deformed by hand, brush, scratches, and bring us back to the essence of life: Suffering, happiness and death.
