“Culture is the final aim of Nature”
Em. Kant “Criticism of Judgment Ability”
The goal of the project is to attract maximum possible number of art lovers and people who are not indifferent to the problem of development of mankind as a cultural community to conduct the dialogue by means of culture and art.
The social implication of the project is further spreading of information about art, about its role in our life and about experiments in art in the XX-XXI centuries. More than that, the goal is to conduct a dialogue about culture.
The name of the project is ironic to a certain extent and implies the continuity in art. It tunes with the names of the works of the two world-famous painters: “The meeting or Bonjour, Monsieur Courbet” and “Bonjour, Monsieur Gauguin”.
“Bonjour Monsieur Malevich” is an independent art project ready for implementation by the author. It is based on personal feelings and sensations as well as professional experience. Planned as early as 1989 in the 90-s the project represented a number of separate sketches and studies. And only nowadays it is realized into a balanced and consistent project. The material gathered by the author is ready for implementation and will be devoted to the 100-th anniversary of Kasimir Malevich’s “Black Square”.
The series of canvases includes genre, plot and abstract paintings of forms, images and characters done in wide variety of styles ranging from grotesque to ironically naïve. All of them are connected this way or another with Malevich’s heritage or with the works of his followers and antagonists. The response to Malevich’s supremacist ideas as well as to his artistic and plot findings are the main themes of works connected with the concept of the project. The contents of the project according is planned to give food to the contrary opinions and inspire disputes about the experience and effectiveness of modern art.
The dialogue between the artist and the viewer could be encouraged or even challenged by the given context. Thus the viewer has a perfect right to have his own opinion about the subject and plot of the project just like the artist has the right to realize his point of view. The author’s credo is to discover a new basis for the new vision of what is usual and commonplace and to bring together the old and the new most paradoxically.
