We are proud to announce that recently Alan Neider completed his 3rd book. Author says about it:
It is based on 5 new groups of paintings. They utilize paint, fabric, plaster and cardboard. The painting surface is heavily textured while the cardboard is the support structure. For these reasons I believe the painting challenge the definition of ‘what is a painting’.
Alan Neider has been making art for over forty years. His paintings drawings and sculpture have been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions including the Lowe Museum, FL; Governors Island, NY; Henri Gallery, DC; Nancy Lurie Gallery, IL; Jan Cicero Gallery, IL; Local Projects, NY; Brian Morris Gallery NY. Neider’s work is included in the flat files at Pierogi NY and Artspace CT. His work has been written about and reviewed in Art in America, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Artforum and Art New England. He has completed several Public art Commissions including a free standing painting titled ‘Lake Dance’ on top of Navy Pier IL. He has been awarded a CT Commission on the Arts Grant and a Robert Rauschenberg Change Inc. Work Grant. He received an MFA from Washington University MO; BFA from California State University, Long Beach, CA.
