The Juices of Time
The artists attending this Pavilion scour their creative time through the photographies of Joana Choumali, the sculptures of Jems Robert Koko Bi, the installations of Joachim K. Silué to come to the painting of Ouattara Watts and Raimondo Galeano. In one moment or in another, the artists had to abandon their own memory, their conscience, their brain on the way, in the emblematic events of the modern times.
Each of them has brought back his own awareness of the immediate space and time, he or she has taken control of his own conscience again, they have squeezed it to create again the lymph of time, vital lymph which are the subject of this exhibition.
Being aware of this, a specific question comes out of Joana Choumali’s photographic portrait: “to be attractive”, what does it mean for a contemporary black african woman?
