Collaborative Art would like to take the opportunity to invite you to the launching event of The Exchange project on Tuesday 16th February 6pm to 10pm, at the Brunswick East, Stamford Works, 3 Gillett St, Dalston, N16 8JH London.
The Exchange is a project aiming to create a platform for local, national and international artists to showcase work in bound form. In the form of an independent artist library and a bookstore, the Exchange is located within a independent coffee shop in Dalston and it consists of work from over 80 international artists both established and emerging.
As well as housing works from early career artists our collection features work from artists whose publications may also be found in TATE Galleries London, Whitechapel gallery, V & A and MOMA New York.
The collection of independently published works, which will be featured as part of the library and also will be available for sale, with all proceeds going directly to the artists and whilst artists are not charged any fees to display/sell through The Exchange. In addition the participating artists have the opportunity to host an event, relevant to their publication, in the space.
The project is accommodating submissions from around the world such as USA, Japan, China, Mali, Benin, Togo and from countries across Europe and include published works from a breadth of artist and collectives – everything from underground comic books to Turner Prize nominees and winners.
The Exchange @ Brunswick East is an artist led project in an artist led space, currently self-funded and is kindly supported by local art collectives Gillett Square Studios and Collaborative Art.
