The Elgiz Museum salutes the summer with a selection of 18 newly displayed works from the collection, focusing on sculpture works and installations. Opening at the same time with the annual Terrace exhibition, this unique assembly of works aim to underline the turbulent times we are in with the grey tones of Wolfgang Petrick’s large painting, to this year’s much celebrated artist Erwin Wurm’s aluminum sculpture disguised in the form of a human-suit; alongside Stephan Balkenhol’s gigantic wood-carved ‘Big Man’ sculpture, silently greeting the deconstructed Erard Piano by H. N. Gurel, juxtaposed by a view from Xavier Veilhan’s almost-musical blurry image situated next to Alex Prager’s stunning photograph with no path to follow.
The notion of uncertainty and flux is evaluated through Chesterton’s depiction of the color grey.
The exhibition can be seen until October 28.
