Founded in 2006 by Vanessa Liberati, Gitana Rosa represents fine contemporary art by leading emerging and established artists and encourages social, political and environmental messages through the arts. Gitana Rosa was the first green gallery in Brooklyn to adopt ecological practices into its business model and to donate a portion of proceeds from select exhibitions to environmental non-profits
In 2014, Gitana Rosa opened a second location in Chelsea which served as its main gallery space for the year whilst the Williamsburg gallery operated as a project space directed by Lauren Wolchik. After 10 years in Brooklyn, Gitana Rosa has now moved to Piermont, NY on the banks of the Hudson.
The new location in Piermont combines gallery space with a curated retail experience to showcase exclusive artist designed editions, multiples, collections and individual works.
Agent X, cultural explorer and agent of the unknown, creates experimental, multimedia collages, paintings, and 2D artwork. Described as ‘Pop Art with thought,’ Agent X juxtaposes pop culture, technology, fashion, music, politics, and race in visually complex amalgamations expressing the anxieties of the global, post-modern world and the dark side of consumerist, media-obsessed culture. His work occupies a unique intersection between the aesthetics and philosophy of Futurism, the social critique of the Dada movement, and contemporary artistic movements ranging from Pop Art to Superflat.
